The windage screw has a light click to the adjustment, I sprayed it with gun cleaner followed by oil. No improvement, I afraid something broke.

Of course the parts are impossible to find, so replacement is my best option. But I have no idea where I may buy one for my S&W Model 52-2?

I don't wish to mount an optic at this time.

Thank you - Tim

Greetings,

It may be okay.

Does the windage screw rotate by itself when shooting?

If you can still 'feel' the clicks, you are good to go.

Cheers,

Dave

When I turn the windage screw the positive click is almost nonexistent. The elevation screw while not very strong does have a positive click. It takes awhile but my shoots slowly drift right.

Greetings,

The M52/M41 windage screw is staked in position. Unless there is evidence that someone has Monkeyed with it try the following.

Try applying Kroil.

Or, if you have access to an UltraSonic cleaner, put the sight in a beaker with some penetrating fluid. Again, Kroil would be my choice.

It is possible that the plunger and spring have developed some corrosion/crud that the UltraSonic may free up.

Replacement sights are hard to find and expensive.

Cheers,

Dave

After a 20 hour soak (with some hand agitation) in Kroil, the windage screw has a better feel to the detent.

I will let the Kroil drip off, reinstall it and head to the range to see if it holds.

Thank you Dave for your help.
